The New Year rolls around

Blog first published : Saturday, January 1st 2005

Every year, we sit around at around 10 something and wait as the seconds tick by. Every second, we're closer to the next year. The new year represents new hope, fresh wishes and there's optism and expectations of the new year.

We make our new year resolutions every year and most of us don't keep those resolutions. How sad. Every year, I resolve not to make any resolutions and this year is the same. But as I much on the second bowl of junk food (something we call 'muruku' here), I resolve to eat less junk food!

This year, my heart also goes out to all those victims of the quake and tsunami all across Asia. I pray for the family members and loved ones of those who have lost their lives in the disaster. It is my heartfelt wish that they will have strength to go through a tough time of loss and bereavement and can find the emotional strength to go on with life without the loves ones and friends they've lost.

As with all the other new years before this, I sit here at home watching my 3rd VCD in a row. I am like a series fanatic....especially of HK TVB shows. I am like the worst kind of addict that is and I am so addicted that my kids have grown to know the video shop rental owner quite well.

Anyway, here's also another wish going out to everyone reading this!

May you have good health, lots of money, kids, loved ones, safety, laughter, joy, success. Hope your wishes are granted, and that you will eventually start doing what you want to do for a living instead of what is expected of you. I hope you get whatever it is that you wish for.

Cheers,
Marsha
