It's not that I don't like to spend money....to the contrary, I love to spend money TOO MUCH! If I have $2 in my wallet, I'd spend $1.99. This is what, precisely, landed me in hot soup when I was much younger, you see. And now that I am older, I would like to think that I know better. So, I designed a really foolproof way of ensuring that I do not spend unless I plan to....

I have this habit of keeping my money in my bank. Even if I have it withdrawn, I keep it somewhere else in the home and don't bring it out with me whenever I go out shopping. So happens that I was going to pay for something yesterday and I brought the kids out to the shopping mall yesterday.

Judging from the direction of this blog, I suppose you already know where I am heading, huh? Well, yeah....you're right.

Since I am moving to a new place soon, I have been religiously saving for the stuff that I am going to need for the new home - but NO, I DON'T DO THAT. I go and buy a new mobile/cell/hand phone that I don't need. What was so wrong with my old handphone....erm...apart from the fact that even my live-in maid has a better cell phone than me? What was wrong with my cell phone except for the fact that when the sales lady (at the phone shop) saw it, she almost turned around to laugh cause it was outdated. Her words were, "Well, you know, they don't sell that kind of phones anymore these days, you know".

But did I need the new phone? Nope, not at all. And here I am with my new cell phone....and missing my old one. Sentimental old hag that I am sometimes...... :-)
